Hey fellas,
Has anyone used this (or a similar) race alt. mount? It looks to simple to me, like all the tension/weight is being held by one bolt.

i use a std chevy alternator bolted directly to the front hole in the block, and a heim joint to tension the belt.
it runs off the a/c side of the crank pulley. its near perfect alignment.
7500rpm, no belt slingage.
ive run it with and without a backbrace, same results, but i have a lil homeade backbrace on it just for peace of mind.

I still use the stock alt bracket and relocated the tensioner (something Tom the Roofer did many years ago which I copied
)
mount the tensioner on the back side where the idler pulley used to be (have to clearance the webbing on the alt bracket). its held in by one bolt, but it sits tight against the bracket on the bottom so it can't rotate. Works so far up to 8000 rpm![Nod](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_nod.gif)
Best part is that its FREE![Nod](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_nod.gif)

the pulley is pretty wide, but i dont know if it would stay on it or slip off the back.
itd doable for sure.
my alt is mounted directly to the block.
this is an older pic on my stock 6.0, but same setup.
