2 Step w/ Catalytic Converters
It's a street car that sees a track visit 5-6 times per year.
It passes emissions here in Atlanta, GA and does have ARH headers/y-pipe w/ cats. I'm not sure what type of cats ARH uses... bullets?
At any rate, I'd like to hear from the guys that run a 2 step at the track w/ cats with good results, i.e. no catalyst failure.
I only plan to mat the throttle and engage the 2 step on the 1st/2nd green. So the time exposure would be minimized - maybe 2 seconds.
Thanks for your help guys.
I figured that back firing was just par for the course with a 2 step... cats or no cats.
So, after the back fire what happened? Does the cat just clog and the car won't run?

Just unhook the catback because there's gonna be chunks of cat. converter flying out the pipe and will be jammed in the muffler and whatnot.
Hell when I put the 402 in my car the cats blew out just from running the unleaded race gas. Probably got about 200 miles on the setup and about 10 track runs and they were crumbling and flying and clogging up the catback.

I'm skipping MCE this time.... but I'll be heading back to Silver Dollar this time next month if you're game?
I'd like to keep the cats functioning if possible.... have you used the vallet mode in EFI Live for launch control?

and yes the stock rev limiter is a fuel cut.
However I dont recommend sitting on the 2 step for ling, being that it is a fuel cut.
