So what does everyone suggest to buy for trans cooler's? I'm running a 3200 vigilanti stall and I'm sure I'm going to need something right? Just wondering what other's have done up for these such as part #'s and what not's, How the install went in, if any one's got pics!

I run a B&M cooler. I'm not a big fan of the rubber hoses and hose barbs. I've seen too many of those pop off, and ATF is extremely flammable. My cooler has 1/2" NPT fittings instead of hose barbs on it. I also did away with the factory metal lines and run -6AN hose directly from the trans to the cooler. Most people retain the factory metal lines and put a rubber hose over it with hose clamps to route it into the aftermarket cooler. In my experience, that hose seems to be very prone to popping off at the most inconvienient times.

So is that what the 4l60e trans line are, the 6AN fitting then???? I would diffently run new lines if it saves on messing something up. I was think about buimg a T junction of some sort to screw into the stock lines and then splicng off that T fitting with some braided line of some sort. Never messed with one though so I really don't know what folks do!

I have a derale has -6 fittings on the cooler, I got -6 adapters for the trans. Those barb fittings are an accident waiting to happen.

The factory lines connect to the trans via a quick-connect type fitting. Those fittings (2) can be removed from the trans and replaced with 3/8" NPT to -6AN fittings for use with some braided -6AN hoses.

Here's the cooler I use:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BMM-70266/
It's probably a bit overkill in size, but it kept my 4L60E very cool even after long sessions of thrashing on it during some street tuning.

In order to run new -6AN hoses, you'll need these adapters for the trans:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/RUS-660460/

And these adapters for the cooler (if you use the B&M above):
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/RUS-670150/

For the hoses, you'll need 90* hose ends for the trans side, and the cooler side will depend on the mounting position/location of your cooler. I started with 20 feet of hose and ended up with around 5 feet left. My cooler is mounted in front of the radiator on the passenger side.

That looks like a very nice setup. I just don't want to remove the bumber to install it there! Is this the "derale" that comes with a fan then????

I believe that is the one. I got it from jegs but I think it did come with derale packaging. It was like $110-120 if I remember correctly.

I use a Flex-A-Lite cooler with my car. It's huge though, like 22" x 10.5" or something. I use a 1/2 NPT to -6 adapter out of the cooler, and use an adapter out of my A3 transmission to -6 and run pushlock hose. Keeps my 5200 stall under 160 degrees in traffic.

I think the size is sufficient, but like I said in my previous reply, I'm not a big fan of the hose barb ends.

That is a huge stall compared to my 3200 vig, lol!!!! I bet it's abeast of a car.
I'm not to excited about the barb fittings either although I don't think I can afford to buy all the braided lines and all the fittings to get it all setup. I still am finishing up the suspension and I have to get an exhaust put on to my LT's. I'm already about $1600 over budget, lol! So I may have to wait until the summer to configure some new lines. The car has been down for a little over 3 months now with redoing the interior and the engine rebuild... I'm really anxious to get it on the road, I'm sure you all know how that is!, So for a 3200 vig I should be good though with that cooler on summit. Thanks guys
