Hey Jon,
Another quick question.
I am wondering about the floor bar running across the very front.
Will it interfere with the transmission? Will it make it difficult to re/re the trans?
I am getting close to the starting point on my build and was looking under the car and in my SFI book and thought that might be an issue.
Thanks
Dave

The very front bar will be cut out in the center. There is a removable bar behind it in the center further back that will be the transmission crossmember. I left the front floor bar complete to help hold everything square while we welded everything up and got it in the car. Let me know if you have any other questions. I'd be happy to help where I can!

I read over the SFI specs again and assumed that is what you were planning.
I think I am on the right track.
Thanks again

Unfortuneately, I haven't touched the car in over a year. It's sitting under a car cover in our shop. I got the motor back, put the heads on it, sealed it up, and rolled it into the corner. I have a pile of parts and pieces covered in dust. I would like to get back on it but time has been hard to come by the the oil field going crazy down here in TX. Hopefully I can get back on it sooner than later.

I’m going to bump this old thread as I just bought the car, I will be updating on here but I have my own thread (8.9s NA or bust). the car is in overall good shape, the floor is going to have to get tinned In and the seat will have to be lowered as I’m 6’1 and there’s not much room for my head . As far as my plans go, it’s getting my LME solid roller 440, turbo 400 and MWC 9”. The car will most likely be painted black as I’m not big on red but it’s growing on me.
