Did i need a DS Loop?

I have a '98 WS6 that makes just over 400RWHP. I have a 6-point cage and run BFG Drag Radials. Will i need a drive shaft loop in order to pass tech at the strip?

Usually with drag radials you don't need a loop..if you run a slick you will.

Drive shaft loop required on all cars running 13.99 or quicker (except vehicles running 13.00 or slower cars equipped with street tires.)

I'm not sure if they consider drag radials street tires. But if you plan on running 12.99 or better you need one regardless.

For such a cheap safety item, why even ask.
Plus some tracks consider any sticky type tire will require a loop.
For piece of mind, take a few bucks & minutes and throw one on there.

Here's the correct info, via the NHRA rule book. You can find it in the stickies section under "What do I need? safety stuff for NHRA..."

-A driveshaft safety loop is required when you run slicks (not drag radials or street tires). With street tires or drag radials, no loop is required until 11.49 1/4-mile (7.35 1/8-mile) and faster.
