I just purchased this 98 TA last weekend and I'm not so sure if I'm going to like having a roll cage. The car will be driven about 3 times a week but only at the track about 3 times a year. It is a welded in 6pt roll cage, so if I decide to take it out how do I need to go about the holes that are left behind? And do you guys actually enjoy having a roll cage in your car?

you take it out and guaranteed one goes back in at a later date. as long as it's well done just leave it. Still gotta be legal at the track, even 3 times a year.

What make of cage? The only real pest of a cage, or roll bar is the door bars. Which should have swingouts, or if not, install them. Then just remove the door bars when you street drive it, put them back in if you plan to race. Problem solved.

As mentioned, if the car will run faster than 11.50 in the 1/4 (7.30 in the 1/8) you'll need a 5 point bar at least anyways. If the cage doesn't have swing out bars, add them. It makes street driving a lot easier.

I've got an 8-point roll bar in mine. I've got swingouts, too. So, it really doesn't ever get in my way. I lost my back seats, but I'm not sure if that's a concern for you or not. I say leave it in.

Or another possiblity is if you dont want to have end sticking out where your door bar mounts to, switch out the door bars for the curved ones that jog down half way. Makes it easy to get in and out plus you are protected at the track, or on the street. Its what i have and they are the ****!!

It does not have a swing-out bar, and I may need the back seat every now & then. The car did run 11.2 with the previous owner. Hmmm
