Default Lightweight carpet - need insulation?

I'm thinking about doing the cheapo lightweight carpet by getting the outdoor carpet from Lowes or Home Depot like some guys have done

My question is, do I need to put any insulation down around the front floor/trans tunnel?

I have no carpet right now and the floor gets pretty warm with my Hooker Super Comp headers....

anything to worry about?

how has the outdoor carpet worked for some of you?

I haven't heard of anyone puting anyhting under the new carpet.. IMO it would defeat the point..

I don't have headers on my Z yet, but for what its worth my floor doesn't get hotter than normal and its just ozite carpet..
