Race car header choice......
The car is a stock cube forged LS1, AFR's, Vic Jr, DP nitrous, and Wilson 4150 tb. It will be high compression, running on C16. We're expecting the car to run 9.3x's or better. I'm trying to choose headers. These are what I have it narrowed down to.
Edelbrock 1 3/4" stepped to 1 7/8" Victor Series Drag Race 304 stainless
Kooks 2" stainless
Collectors don't matter because I will more than likely be using these to get me into certain classes......
The Kooks are only about $100 more than the Edelbrocks. So.....feedback? Suggestions? Also, the the 2" better better off than the 1 3/4" stepped to 1 7/8" being that the car will never be under 5500-6000 RPM's?

I actually have the Edelbrock Ti-tech coated headers on the car now. Gonna go with stainless though. The Ti-tech's will go from the SS to the WS6. They are good headers though. I've had them on the car for a few years, and they're still holding up great.
Is it just me, or do the Edelbrocks look to be more of a tuned header than the Kooks?

ARH 1 7/8" should be on your list as well, I dont know if they make a 2"
I just bought their 1 7/8" with a 3.5 merge collector, pretty nice. They replaced my 6 year old qtp's...

If you want to run a slip on collector muffler the edlebrock might be a better choice becuase they are already set up to do that. I don't think you could put that on any other header since they're not really designed that way.
However, if one of the header companies REALLY wanted to make a RACE header, they could design a 2inch strait header, hell step it up to a 2.125 with a slip on 4 inch collector with the option of a header muffler both with an o2 bung in them, that HUGGED THE BLOCK GOOD, were set up to be used with a motor plate so there's no concern for motor mount placment, and be set up for a slip on collector and the springs/soild link bar to hold the collector on, so that the primaries could be trimmed for tuning purposes to the setup, they could also angle the headers both strait back instead if the drivers side pointing out to the side. This way the steering shaft clearance wouldn't be a concern, the dipstick on the other side, not needed just tell people to cap the oil pan, race cars change the oil enough so it's not an issue.
