Use the SFI padding, 3/4 or 1 inch thick stuff that jaz or the like sells, and there' no fitmet problems. Stuff looks 10 times better then that cheap pool toy looking crap too.
You need to take the bar that's on the bottom of the net, and roll it inside the bar, doesn't have to be on teh center of teh tube, just inside the tube. Putting it on the bottom side will help prevent you from backing your leg on the tabs.
The top, you need to have everything inside the top hoop bar, again not a big deal, just zing it off and reweld it in plate along the inside of the top hoop.
This way, the net will keep you inside the cage, which is it's purpose. Basicially, the net's gonna be on/in your way, and that's just the unfortunate truth.
You also want to pull the net back some, so that it's covering the back of the seat, that way it's even/behind the seat a tiny bit, (like a 1/4 inch). So it will have to come backwards abotu 2 or 3 inches, unless you have your seat way up because your seat is way forward (shorty

) Looking at your pictures, it looks like thats what you did. No issues with that if so.

My stuff has been from the center in for 20 years, never an issue.
They will not freak about the stuff mounted to the tube.
They will not pass anything past the bar.
Stroud makes good stuff, I have their dual cannons and love them.
