Default 10.5 all motor

Need some serious help for my next build and runing mid 10's
3500lb race weight with 260lb driver
M6 with 4.11 in the rear.
Should be decent in the 60's old set up was good for 1.6's, low 1.5's are there.

Motor and power need for this which one?

346, with good 5.3L heads, PRC maybe decent cam 230 range, 1 7/8 kooks with true duals, Fast 90/90

383, with same set up but a bigger cam 250 range, Fast 90/90

402 with bigger heads LS6 and bigger cam, Fast 90/90

402 with TEA heads LQ9 style(350 range for air) Fast 102/102 set up with a big cam

418 with the same top half as the 402.

What motor option will get me there?
Will the 383 do it? Should I stake that with LQ9 heads with 102/102. I want to do it right.

Old set up was 3500lb race weith 11.7 @ 117 with a 1.6 60ft time. 346 with patriot 5.3's, 224/224 cam, 1 3/4 headers true duals, 4.11 and LS1 intake. Guesing it was about 400RWHP. They dont run like they do in texas.

I would just build the biggest cube motor you can afford. In this case a 418 with the TEA LS3 or TSP LS3 heads. Callies or Eagle forged assembly about 12:1 compression, and a 250/250 .600+ lift cam for max effort. Then the fast 102, but you can also try a super victor with a 4150tb if you dont mind cutting the cowl.

That should get you into the mid 10's.

I'm sporting a 347 with Livernois Heads, Futral Cam, and a Fast 90/90 setup. It's good for 10.80's, and next year with a few small changes and some more weight reduction it will see a 10.50. There is no reason any of those combo's couldn't run 10.50's (that is if you would go with a larger cam on the 346) IMO.

Your gonna have to make 500 to the wheels at that weight, have a low 1.40 60ft to get there in some GOOD air. Dont skimp on clutch or suspension.

You can get there with a 383 combo and make the car hook better with 50lbs off the nose of the car. 383 with some TFS 225's and a FAST 92 shoud get it done.

We built a buddies car, 347 with a TFS as cast, Fast 92, Bauer cam it made 455 to the wheels, ran 121 mph at full weight.

SO is the raceweight 3500 or 3760?

Race wt is with me in it. My old TA was 3200lbs with mild weight reduction, emissiong, ac and all the heat sheilding.

What do I need to do to the suspsion? Torque are, lca, and panhard rod. Good tires on 15in rim I should be okay?

If your talking to me, here is a quick run down. I only got to run my car back in the heat of the summer a handful of times, and when I did the only decent passes were all 1/8 mile...

-1.47-1.48 60's all day and night.
-97.5-98.5 mph depending on the weather.
-7.5" 10 bolt w/ 4.10 gear.
-th350 with a Fuddle 3600 nitrous converter just off the foot brake.
-Stock torque arm, all non-adj suspension, lca relocation brackets, CE 3 way shocks, Strange SA struts w/ 275lbs springs.
-Livernois St. 2 heads, custom grind Futral n20 cam, HS rockers, Fast 90/90, Probe pistons, Scat H-beam rods, factory crank, TSP oil pump, ARP studs throughout, SLP headers, BLUECAT tune.

If you wanna know anything else, just ask. Weight reduction will be be your best friend if you want to keep this as cheap as possible!

if you are going to keep it a 6 speed you better be a good driver if you want to get anywhere near 10.50's on motor at that race weight. You will need at least that 402 with a damn good set of heads and you will need to run 6.70's or better in the 1/8th. I remember a few years ago Tony Mamo's 383 making 500 rwhp was running 11.00's -or high 10's in a vette. good luck

Well the t-56 will be bult and I will speed shift, I can drive pretty well. Never been scared of 6k dumps. I know its a real disadvantage but if im not shifting it I feel like Im not driving it. See decent amout of street miles. The track is for fun and to just pound on lesser cars and bikes.

Going with the 402 or 418 with the LQ9 heads and fast 102/102. The heads flow 350 ish and with a big can 550 to wheels shouldnt be to big of a problem.

My 346 has been doing for a while now with an A3, a 6-speed with the same mods will need full suspension and a good rower.

3500 raceweight and rowin' a 6 speed I think you should go for a 4xx cid cubes.

My old Z went 10.7 on a 1.5 @ 3300 raceweight, I'd want at least 50 more cubes on top of the old 347 cid to hit mid 10's.

Going 41X with lq9 top end. If the car goes 10.9 I'm not going to freak out. I will have 150 shot on reserve if I need it.

The only way to do it will be for 400+ cubes even that may only get you high tens,
