Like said, check the FI section.

What I will say its not about the HP as much, but rather the Force applied to the rear, and race weight will factor in greatly too this. I have seen a spooled 12 bolt puke the gears with out too much effort. A sponsor in the Eastern members forum did one in recently but I think it was on motor or motor/nitrous.(i forget)

I managed to break a tru track making 384 rwhp but a heavy race weight. It puts more stress on the parts.

I would like to see you try, I bet there are tricks to getting the car leave good (1.4x or quicker 60') and making 1000 hp and letting the rear live. I am thinking 2 or 3 step systems or going right to a BS3 deal.

Keep us posted!

on my 35 splined 12 bolt at 3440lbs making 750rwhp on nitrous i went a 1.31 60ft and never hurt a thing, mine has 5/8 studs, 35 spline, spool, Micronited gear set and i check them before, half way and at the end of the season.

Trans brake or no? Most auto cars are easier on the rear - you have guys in the 11s and 10s on the 10 bolt. As long as your not shocking it something fierce I think you will be OK, especially with a spool.

I don't think you will be hurting it to bad with a glide. those 35 spline and spool are going to be tough. I think the only weak point would be the pinion gear if you went steaper then 4.56 gears. if you were to run a 3.73 or example the pinion is bigger and stronger, but either way I think it will hold.

There are a few threads about people running turbo'ed autos on the 10 bolt in the low 10's. a glide will be much easier yet on the axle vs. even a th350, no super low first, and no 1-2 shift shock.<----I say that becasue a glide is more like a 2-3 shift....

Im running a moser 12 bolt with 35 spline axles. Race weight is 3275lbs. Motor makes 840 hp on motor plus a 500 shot of nitrous. Ran a best ET of 5.32 @ 132.6 mph with a 1.22 60ft. So far everything seems to be holding up just fine.
