Default First Procharged 99+ truck in the 10's

I know 10's typically aren't the most impressive times on this site but I figured this was a unique case. The goal was to run 10's with a simple do-it-yourself combination with an out of the box procharger kit in a full weight steetable truck. Here's the specifics a pic or two:

2006 Silverado, retains a/c, sat. radio and all accessories. 4550lb's with me in it.

Motor: iron 346" motor utilizing a 5.3l block and crank, slightly worked 706 casting heads, victor jr. intake with stock throttle body, 224/230 comp cam.

Power adder: D1sc procharger with the 3-core intercooler, 6-rib procharger belt w/stock tensioner and a 3.85" blower pulley.

Fuel system: stock returnless system with 60lb. injectors and single in-tank walbro, Alkycontrol meth injection w/single nozzle.

Drivetrain: FLT 4l80e, precision converter, eaton posi, 4.56 gears, bogart wheels.

Suspension: 4/6 drop, QA-1's all around, no traction devises.

Tuned by me with HPTuners.

Results: 10.96 @ 126 mph on a crappy 1.69 60'.

Here's some pics:

Very nice. Looks like it's missing some safety stuff, but other then that it's a killer looking ride, and impressive to say the least, and I'd guess with a 8 rib and some more boost, there's a good bit left, especially if you can get the 60 foot's down some.

What's the raceweight on it?

Good job on the build man, Looks from the mph that there is an easy mid 10 sec pass in her. Get that 60' down. Thats the fun part in this hobby, messing around and finding the right combination that works. Is there any wheel hop? Or is it just spinning, I know trucks usually have more issues hooking then what cars do.

I noticed in the two pics you have that one you have the m?t tires on and the other you have goodyear on.

I have been reading that the goodyear tires are slightly better. I'm sure you tried both at the track? Whitch one works better?

There's no wheel hop. When it doesn't 60' it just spins. I made two passes earlier in the evening and it went 1.63 and 1.62 60' but I had to abort those runs once cause a belt destruction and the second cause I have some weird shifting/rev limiter/electical glitch that happens about once every 3-4 passes that I can not figure out. I posted this problem in the tuning section and need to post my tunes and a log so y'all can see what I'm talking about.

Anyway, I originally put the m/t's on there and they didn't fit. They were 29.5x10.5 and I only had about 1/16" clearance between the tire and the leafspring. So I found these goodyears that were just slightly smaller. They seem to work pretty good with a good burnout. Two things I've notice about the goodyears is that they don't like to smoke alot and the sidewall seems a little weak. They fold up pretty good on the launch. The M/T's are for sale if you know anyone interested. Never even drove on them.

How much for the mt's and what is the exact size.

Double check the tune with people who are good at dialing these autos in. I know my car is very picky on where the shift points are.

I know PATC has separate 4l80e controlers, but they cost alot, about $1000 but you can easily adj shift points on the fly.

Check out PATC if you haven't (performance automotive transmission center)

M/T ET Drag 29.5x10.5x15. I was asking $350. I mounted them then unmounted them, never driven on.

Stock brakes/hubs. Converted to 5-lug by Moser.

I have a video of the second pass I made. It went 1.62 60' and shreaded the belt on the 2-3 shift in this video.

Here is a vid of a 1.75 60' I made in ennis the week before. I was playing with the shocks and it spun pretty bad on this run, but its a decent vid cause it was during the day.

Nice build! I'd check your blower belt alignment, as it should not shred a belt. Bob

Congratulations! The truck looks sick and is very impressive. I would think a set of caltracs or even some slapper bars to stabilize the pinion angle would help the 60' a good bit. Good luck with it.

very clean truck, may want to consider using some caltracs or something to help get that 60ft down

Any idea what the truck should be putting down power wise at the wheels?

I would **** myself if I ran into that truck on the street and got yanked.

I would agree with you but the procharger kit is bolted up just as it came out of the box. Could their kits be that far out of alignment? It has never had a belt problem till that night. Then again that new gatorback that I tried was TIGHT. I bought it .5" shorter and it had the tensioner pretty much locked out, trying to get as much boost as possible. I put the regular procharger belt back on it and no problems. Does this make any sense?

I'm gonna try a torque arm setup with a shackle style (spohn) front mount. My suspension write up can be seen here: http://performancetrucks.net/forums/...d.php?t=441078

I had it dynoed once on a superflow and the dyno operator told me that the gauge was showing 10lbs of boost. I made like 550 rwhp. This obviously is a little low. I'm guessing 650 or so as I was just peaking at 15lbs on the datalogger, but what good is a guess? I've supprised a couple zo6's on the highway and they were like WTF was that!?

That and the look on his girls face when i asked her if she wanted a ride. lol

Just out of curiosity, what would y'all guess this this motor would trap in a vette weighing 1500lbs less or an f-body weighing 1200lbs less? Went 126mph in a 4550 lb truck.

Truck is not spinning that bad, it does have what I call a "bunny hop" you need to tighten up the rear shocks and see what it does.

Seems to be blowing through the converter more than spinning.
