2-step backfire
A few months ago I installed a LNC003 2-step on my car. When activated the car would backfire due to the unburnt fuel. Having the car backfire while studdering really messed up my concentration, and sounded like ***. I was wondering if another 2-step like the MSD 8733 would be any different. I really need to get a 2-step working so my launches off the transbrake are consistent.
Any thoughts? My exhaust consists of headers to x-pipe to bullets.

This video is borrowed from another post. This isn't my car, and my car is much louder. This is exactly what mine does on the LNC 2-step....any ideas?

The week before, it was 80-85* and had less of a backfire, I don't think I noticed any of my backfires while in the car honestly...I was just focused on the tree and other things

My car is gutted and it sounds like bombs are going off under my seat. I guess I'll just buy a big tach and mount it on my dash where I can see the rpm range and just skip the 2 step until I can have it leaned out from idle to 4000 rpm's.
I was just hoping another 2 step would work better than the LNC one I had tried a few month's back.

i have had the harlen and the msd. for some reason the msd was waaaaay smoother than the harlen. however, i did not back fire like that with either. i usually had it set between 5800-6200 on my six speed. we will see what happens with the auto set around 2k.

Yeah that doesn't sound right at all. Here's a vid of mine with the LNC-003 set at 6700rpms. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WnpciXAkss

I run the LNC-
try moving it 100rpm either way. There something about how it controls the amount- and order, of coils turned off. In how its setup to work.
I see a huge change between a no fireballs, pops hitting it, like its the stock limiter. Slight pops, you know its a limiter. And a gunshots, outside the exhust fireballs like its anti-lag. Within a few 100rpm. I set mine up ther 5800-6200 on DR and its quite. 6500-6700 on slicks still quite. There somthing about setting it at 6400 it shoot gun shot loud as **** fireballs. I leave it at that on the street setup so I can WOT shift easily when I need to. Moving it too 6500 and I shift before it shoots a fireball, but still works the same? My revlimiter is up there 7200 so I dosnt think that it affecting it, getting close.
For the low rpms, Not sure if it works the same way. I would think it be in 100% rpm limiting mode, if your really going WOT and it having to contraol for 3-4K

The above video of the black car, that was being on the 2 step for WAY too long. You shouldn't be on it for more then a second, on a slow tree, I'd wait until the top bulb is totally lit before even putting the foot to the floor.
On a pro tree, you might be there for a second longer due to the randomness of it, but as a general rule you don't want to leave a car on a 2 step for any longer then you have to. Fireballs, and all that are the norm.

My best time was actually nailing it from 1st to 2nd bulb?

I just realized that your 2 step video ran through the sequence 3 times. I think I'm going to try the MSD set to 4k and only hit it once the tree starts moving. I don't run a pro tree so It should work.
