Default do 15" weld fronts clear stock brakes?

I got a spindle to allow me to use 98-02 fbody brakes on my 72 nova.

I am reading conflicting info on minimum wheel size. many say 16" is the minimum.

so, will 15" weld fronts clear these brakes. I ask here because I know someone on here knows.

Not without grinding the caliper and/or using a spacer.

Yeah, what he said. Or, use drag brakes.

You can do a search on here (in this section) for grinding brakes and see some pics of what needs to be done. With a spacer the grinding isn't too bad on the front.

If you're interested I'll have some nice low mile rotors and calipers off my SS for sale pretty soon that have been just slightly ground down.

This post is full of incorrect. Weld Draglites, and Prostars will not fit over stock LS1 brakes. However Weld racing does have 12 other 15x4 designs that are made as a direct fit for LS1 brakes.

I had 15x3.5 Weld Prostars on my car with the stock brakes and I ground them to fit with no spacer. Bogart(SJM Manufacturing) makes 15" wheels that will fit without grinding.
