Aren't race car's fun haha. Your clean up looks good! I had to ditch my passenger wiper when I SBC swapped mine, plus it has a tall single plane. I ended up fabing up a pivot to run the linkage back so I could keep one wiper for that just in case moment, and some of the random street car class rules around here say you have to have functioning wipers to run in the lower classes. I'll see if I can find a picture of how I did mine.

Please post some pics or even pm me some if you can I cut mine back all the way and am debating trying to get it to work at least on the driver side and adding some sheet metal along the cowl like the op did to use the wiper cow plastic.
I cut mine out in one piece when the engine was out and welded tabs to it so it bolts back in and the wipers all go back in and work like standard. I keep the cowl/wipers removed when I know I'm going to be messing with the engine or racing.
There's 5 tabs across the bottom section in total and they sit above the sheetmetal on the car, and it slots in nicely and I also welded nuts to the tabs so it just bolts straight in with M8 bolts, no need to hold the nut. The two tabs on the outer far edges (difficult to see the left one in that pic) do a great job of keeping it from sagging. Once the wiper arm is bolted on in the middle, it ties it together so well that's it's literally as solid as never having been cut. My wipers work 100%. And the plastic can go on if I want it to. GM should have made them this way to be removable.

Thas a good idea! My driver side wiper kept popping off the ball and I got tired of it because it never worked so I cut it off when I did the super Vic and 4150. Now I’m stuck with this, I may cut the passenger wiper mount out of a junkyard car and try and do like the op did so I can still keep wipers. It rains so much in central Florida, it used to not bother me back home and I just used rain x but the older I get the more I want all the amenities. Lol
So I only got the one picture, I'd have to take off the wiper arm and the plastic cowling but this should give you an idea of what I did. After a bunch of scrolling and searching I found this you tube video

I attached it to the cowl with some screws, careful this right under your dash pad...I shortened the two connecting rods to get the correct amount of travel, it took some time and I kept having issues with the ball and socket mounts popping out when a load was placed on them. I got some super cheap small 1/4x20 rod ends so I could bolt it all together, works like a freaking champ.
^ that's a good idea for single plane intake setups.
Literally the ONLY thing I dislike about the entire 93-02 4th gens is how they did the cowl/wipers. I don't think they needed to put the windscreen down that far. Maybe they did for vision (laws), but you never look through the bottom 3-4" of your windscreen. If they had made the windscreen a bit shorter from factory could have had the wipers up higher away from the engine and extended the hood more rearwards and curving up, to mostly cover the gap. Like how when people do the full race cowl delete and shorter windscreen, but not quite that much.. they could have gone somewhere inbetween and left a few inches for the wipers.
Someone in GM thought during that design, f*ck the mechanics or hot rodders that need to work on the engine, the wipers don't fit so let's just extend the cowl 1/3 over the engine and shove them in there.

Thanks guys, that picture is with the bow tie vortec style intake, the vortec's for whatever reason have a slightly higher carb height to begin with vs a traditional SBC. Plus it's a tall *** intake, I could of BARELY kept the wiper with the carb but no air cleaner would come close to fitting. A few weeks ago I swapped over to a regular SBC victor JR intake and it's about an inch shorter so now I can run a full 3" air filter.

Wish I could have fit one like your size. With my super Vic and stinger plate along with the spacer I was stuck with that tiny filter lol. The car lost so much power with it I got to the point I only used it if I was going on long trips out of state or to the track then took it off when I got there. I took the 4150 off and was going to put a carb on after seeing how close it all would have been I pulled the motor out and stuffed it in a Fox body lol.
