Default ? about !bumper reinforcements

for those who have done this, I am thinking about doing it and would like to
know if it causes your front bumper cover to be too flimsy( like flapping in the
wind while driving)?

You dont remove any of the mounts oyu just remove the actual foam and the metal reinforcement behind it.

Can you drive it on the street/freeway without all those plastic air directors in front of the radiator removed? I have an lt1 TA, but I think they have the same things on the ls1 front end.

On a TA, the foam is about 4 lbs. I left the foam in and the latch bracket, but cut the center of the bumper beam out. Just leaving the ends to hold the foam and my fog lights, dropped 10 lbs. No flex.

I have absolutely no issues with cooling. Of course I have no t-stat, no condensor in front of the rad, etc. My car never gets above 180*, but it is not a driver any more either. I fabbed up the support with some steel pieces from the hardware store, a hacksaw, and my welder. There are two braces that bolt to the bottom of the rad support that you can't see in the picture.

Thanks, I don't have a condensor or anything like that either and am running straight water/water wetter. I am going to try that setup without those annoying plastic pieces and see how it does on the highway. If I have any collapsing issues maybe i'll try harlan's setup, that sounds like a good idea.
