Default Drag Brakes or Shocks

Iv got some extra cash and Im ordering a rearend. I thought while Im doing this I should get strange drag brakes for the rear, then later get fronts. Less weight and look bad *** BUT I think I need the D/A shocks more..Im on factory shocks and they suck for weight transfer!

What would benifet me more shocks or brakes??

How hard is it to put the brakes on if I decide to wait??

Between the two, I would go shocks. But it really isn't going to matter unless you have a tire that can hook. If you don't have a set of slicks for the car, I would use that extra cash for a set, especially now that you will have a rearend that can handle the abuse. There are plenty of guys including myself that have cut some really good 60' times on stock shocks. I have gone 1.3's many times, and I almost never 60' worse than 1.45. As long as the rest of your suspension/ chassis is set up properly the stockers can work really well.

The page is down right now..

Id be running a 28in MT Stiff Wall Slick..I just plan on leaving at 6000 or a bit more and wanting or maybe needing D/A shocks to help with the tire shock and unloading from the 6 speed!

Hmm, a rear might be a good idea instead.

Sticky tire and a set of shocks that work could cost a lot.

If your ordering a rear get the brakes with the rear because if you get the rear with new backing plates instead of the brakes you will be paying some 200 extra for them.If your planing on using your backing plates then it would not matter.Im not sure if you can order the rear without them these days or not.Just something to think about.

Yes you can, but the backing plates are "stuck" after you press the bearings on the axles, so you'd have to cut the bearings off and switch backing plates and press on new bearings.

Shocks, as when the car starts to "Work" its going to be bouncing off the rear.
