Default rearend question

ok so i have decided to buy a 98 camaro body and swap everything over from my 92 camaro ls1/th400 and the strange 12 bolt rearend. ive read that the 3rd gen rear is 2 inches narrower than the 4th gen rearend. i am currently running 28x12.50-15s on 15x10 5.5bs. now my only concern is how will this fit on the 4th gen. will it stick out, to far in, or just perfect? im willing to buy new rims or minitub, i also want to slam the car down as low as possible without running into suspenion problems.

if the rearend is narrowed 2" on each side then the 15x10 w/ 5.5" bs would fit like stock. If it's narrowed 2" total (i.e. 1" per side), then the 15x10 w/ 5.5" bs wheel would stick out 1".

If I have a rear that is narrowed 4 inches per side and I want to run a 15x10. Then I would need 3.5 inch backspacing correct?
