Default Installed Grant formula wheel.

Continuing with more weight reduction, interior restore, and seeing more track time I installed a grant wheel.

Thing is light as hell, weighs almost nothing, very racy looking, and I actually have legroom now. Was little of a pain in the *** messing with the clock spring and retaining the horn, but I got it. Looks good!

Didn't weight the two exactly. It's not a major weight reduction mod. But when you pull the stock wheel and bag, it's alot heavier than you would think.

The grant wheel is feather light.

I think 90 at Checkers, plus 25 for an adapter, minus a military discount.

A little wire and some electrical connectors.

Anyone need a stock wheel and airbag module?

Haven't driven it yet We got frozen rain last night.

I can already tell I'll have more legroom, and my knuckles won't be banging my pillar pod.

Wheel looks good. Last car I had apart at the point yours was, we ground down the tabs on the plate that is above the clock spring, so that the wheel would no longer lock when the key's not in the ignition, which made the car alot easier to deal with moving around and whatnot. I also shitcan all the horn, abs and radio wires out of the column at that point, since none of them will do anything anymore. Another 1/2 mile of wire gone

If you need the horn, there's pushbutton's that will fit in the steering wheel that will work for that, you just put it no a tether cord.

Did you put a quick release hub on the car too? If so that makes for a killer security system, just pull the wheel and leave the car with now wheel in it.

Hope you're being sarcastic, the stock wheel might weigh 10 lbs.

I am being serious, I was talking with the airbag crap. This information I got from a friend that has removed his steering wheel and airbag on his 99 SS.

It might be worth 40-45 lbs to remove BOTH airbags and the brace under the passenger airbag...

The 40 lbs is probably the wheel, both airbags, all the wiring, the brace etc.
