suspension setup help (beginner)
im very new to setting up a car, so im looking for some advice with my new setup. i read the sticky, started to understand, kept reading, and now i think im more confused than i was before.
i ordered a 9" from mwc with a 4.30 gear. i also ordered their adj tunnel mount tq arm and lca's. shocks are stock for now. the car is lowered on slp springs. it is full weight and m6. i will be running 26x11.5x15 slicks.
im not putting down huge hp numbers, so should i just set my pinion angle at 0? or should i put it somewhere around -1, or more?
should i start with the lca's in the top whole on the rear, and go from there, or should i go ahead and put them lower since the car sits so low?
i would reall appreciate any tips and advice. also, if anyone has a similar setup, i would be interested in what i can expect.
thanks

Your going to need Adjustible Shocks in the rear at minimum. The car will probably work so well your going to be bouncing off the rear end.
Do this. Get bright silver, some lipstick is optimal. Clean off the axle tube (if dirty) and where the bump stop would normally contact. Rub the lipstick on there or whatever that is greasy. IF there is contact after a run, then the body needs to get under control. Otherwise the weight xfer is not at all optimal.

Don't even try putting the lower control arms in the lowest hole with the stock shocks.
Trust me I have the same setup - but with 4.10's. The lowest hole gives you to much anti-squat. On a hard launch the tires would hook, bounce and unload, then hook and go.

Moving the lower control arms to the stock position corrected this and the car started dead hooking.

Measure the center of the LCA mounting bolts to the ground for the front and rear bolts. They should be no more that 1.5" difference. The more parallel the LCA is more the LCA will want to push the car forward.

also, just to make sure i understand adjusting correctly...when adjusting the tq arm and lca's, do u do all the adjusting with full weight on the suspension? or do you jack the car up, adjust, then put the car back down and then tighten everything up?

The car should be loaded...WITH a driver in the seat. Try and find some blocks so you can have the car siting a good 10" off the ground to measure the LCA and the PA. Whenever you make any chances to the car try and do it like if you were at the staring line ready to race.
