I agree...but when you spend hours and a pile of cutting discs and grinding wheels to save a few lbs and go a hair faster you see spending an extra $100 as saving time

I'm just not sure why some say you need weight on the strip... And how much in ET could you loose (if any) with lightweight flexplate

Well you do need some weight to plant the tires but these are really heavy cars.

Reducing rotating weight is always a good thing and sends more power to the tires. Im not sure if a huge et gain will be noticed but for me its all about optimizing the setup. I dont mind skimping so much on easily replaced parts but if later on down the road I decide I want an aluminum flexplate I dont wanna pull the trans, rather spend the extra $$$ and do it right the first time.

MrElectric, I meant that some people think lightweight flexplate actually slows you down on the track...

Ahh ok, well I guess its like the billet steel vs aluminum flywheels they say the steel will give you better torque off the line.

Yes I felt that myself with stick, but in auto you can't bog to 1500-2000rpm because the converter won't let you

I wonder whether this flexplate will fit LS1...

It will not slow your car down. Will it pick up a half second? No, but it'll help a little! Now pack your lunch for a few days and spend the extra coin on the CSR aluminum flexplate!
