27" tire and 3.73's
I have a heads/cam car that made 380 whp (terrible air in tucson) I got a 9" with 3.73's in it that I want to swap over. I have 4.11's now and kinda dislike it...would a 27x10x15 be to much tire for my car? the car hangs with 118-120 mph cars, I think it just dynoed low...anyway, is this going to be to much tire? I have a built 6 speed and will be leaving at 4500+ rpm...

I guess what I mean is, will I just bog with that big a tire and only little over 400 hp with 3.73 gears? I will be spraying later, I just want to work at getting it to hook and go straight before I start spraying... I really want 3.73's as I drive this car alot (not a daily though). I take the car on cruises, drive it to work, car shows ect...
the tires are hooiser qtp's.. I guess I'll just swap the rear and give it a shot...

You should not bog. If it does just fine tune it by adding air to the tires. I think you will be fine. It will not 60 foot as well n/a with the 3.73 and 27'' tire.
Depending on your rev a 26'' bias ply tire will do also. the 26'' tire will grow to 27'' going down the track. Look at the gear chart in the axles/gear section.

I have ran the 27" x 11.5" QTP's for the last 4 years with excellent results! When I had my 6 speed with 3.73's they worked very well. Now with the TH-400 they work but the 3.73's drive the rpm's a little high when cruising so i think i am going to swap out for some 3.08's in a few months.
