Default heat/humidity and et

I was planning on taking my car to the track tomorrow evening but the forecast is upper 80's and possibly on the humid side. My car ran low 13's at 109/110 mph when my brother owned it but his times came at the same track but on the 5th of December when it was only in the upper 40's and dry. How much of a difference does heat/humidity effect et on a n/a car?

A lot. You need to look at Density Altitude to compare apples to apples, but you would see a few tenths difference between days like that...even up to a half second depending on the humidity levels.

on this topic. It has been discussed before. I will see about 3-4 tenths and about 3-5 mph difference between winter and summer timeslips.

My car went from 11.8 at 114 in the heat to 11.4 at 119 in the cold....definitely makes a big difference.

It effects greatly! The slower the car, the more it effects et.

Here are some of my notes.

Correction Factors
1 Degree of air temp
7 second car ET: .0023
10 second car ET: .0032
15 second car ET: .0049

.1 degree in Hg Barometer
7 second car ET: .0072
10 second car ET: .010
15 second car ET: .0154

DA is a very important factor as stated above. I have correction factors for DA but I can't give you all my secrets LOL! might have to race you one day!!!

Thanks for the help. I will try to do some more searching on this topic. I was going to take the car to the track tomorrow night to try for 12's but I may just wait for a cooler day.

You are REALLY close to me! We are actually thinking about going to Huntsville track in the next week or so. If you are interested in meeting up with some of us just shoot me a PM or something.

I just saw New Market and I drive through there every time I go to Huntsville. Was just curious exactly where you lived.
