I'd love to see one too, but I'm pretty sure its just pipe dreams for now.

Guys that are going to be racing at a level where tech cares enough about a SFI case and/or the racer refuses to deal with the weight and complexity penalty of running a shield or bell and blanket combo will be running glides. Pure and Simple.

Yeah no kidding, I'd like to see it, hell might even consider putting another one in the car if that's the case

Looks like I'll be going with the ultra bell and blanket for my setup.

JL,

Since I'm doing this by the rules, what flexplate do you suggest?

There's lots of options for that TCI one works good, Mexiere sells one if you want to spend the big bucks, or if you want to do it on the cheap, Hughes sells one, I used one of their SFI flexplates for 2 years, never had a problem with it.

Bottom line, unless you're talking about Impact driving suits, if it has an SFI tag on it it's passed some level of testing and should be o.k.

I'm not trying to spend huge money. Whatever works and isn't going to cause me a headache.

I don't think it currently exists...but some of the larger performance trans builders are talking about making one. Whoever does will make some $$.

hopefully soon, im still deciding on blanket or csr shield also right now, dont like the idea of having to drop motor to pull trans nor do i like the idea of blanket falling off or catching on fire

I'm putting in a th400 with 2.10's this month. Hope it works out well.

I'm still looking at that vs a 1.8 1st gear glide, I was considering a liberty 5 speed clutchless.... but for the cost vs return, and added maintenance I'm having a hard time justifying it, other then for the factor.

Going that fast, I would definitely have an upgraded bellhousing. I have seen 400 bellhousings break and and cut a huge rip in the floor of my buddies 70 Monte Carlo. It came oh so close to taking out his right leg.
