Things are just abit twisted.... sort of all over. Slightly verying heights and rack position, I just thought it would be better than it is.

But dont get me wrong this is not a company slag off thread, BMR have bent over backwards to always make sure that I was looked after.

Like I said it is no big deal realy, but something to keep in mind!

Ok I thought I might try my jig on my other BMR kframe, just for interest. Unfortunatly I woud have to alter my jig to install it as the engine mounts are in the way.

But I can still see the same flaw, I will mention it to Kyle. They probably have no idea, what US customer would make a jig for a $500 part.

Thanks guys.

Guys part of the reason that the floor show up in the rack is there is little to no movement in the jig, every pick up point/ mounting point is sleeved and is virtually no tollerence.

Guess im committed now....... I cut the crossmember out last night and will now start to rejig it for the final product while I wait for my buddy to come back to the shop to bend it all up.

It cut out good, no flex or stress just cut right out with the 1mm cutting wheel.

Let me know what you guys think.

Guys I picked up the rest of my bottom end, the new motor plate is in. I left it were I positioned the motor........ central and it is 15mm lower than burkharts do. My box sump looks the part, there is room for the rocker covers and and plugs so im happy.

Working on the steering column to now that I have a wheel, I have made some spacers to bring it down they just need to be finished up.

Catch ya.

Guys got some things done, steering column is done inside the car. The front end is nearly done, it took more than one bend to get it to look how I wanted it. It will keep the steering rack brackets nice and short.

Dumming the diff, used some of my old wheels..... there not to bad inside, just need about 4inches outside. But u get the idea, im trying to get the torqure arm mounted up now two.

Things r coming together now!

Coming along nicely! That issue with the k member, is exactly why I went with the burkhart front end, it clears. :-)

Thanks JL!

Im running a rail car box sump though and am sitting quite alot lower than burkhart set a bbc, and still may come down some. I have room to move and can drop the sump at the track now if need be, there was alot of issues that led me to this conclusion!

Know we mounted mine a bit lower then you did, an inch at least, but I'm planning on dry sumping the motor.... So the pan isn't going to be very deep anyway. I know we sunk the. Motor enough so the crank and rear at ride height are all dead nuts strait. Give you an idea on the rear placement upwards into the body and where the motor sits.

Good response JL..... this is the sort of feedback that im after man!!

Dry sump, that explains a few things.

Im looking to get the car sitting at ride height and I have got a whole bunch of measurements to go through starting with crank centreline to ground clearence and so on.

I will hopefully zero out two, or I might put full tubs to tuck a 30 inch tyre in the car soon if I cant get things were I need them!

My buddy lent me a good book, and a few homemade trick driveline adjusting tools to make the job a bit easier.

Just one step at a time, I appreciate the input Man.

Catch ya.

I put a Hoosier 18192 which is an oversized 29.5 tire on, and didn't have to do the full tube to do it, just pulled them in enough so the bumper cover and rear 1/4 weren't an issue.

I don't have to dry sump the motor to get it to fit, a standard 69 camaro style pan with kick outs will work but I want to dry sump it, for the oiling advantages and the ability to easily prime the motor with an electric impact gun by just removing the pump belt, and the added power is a bonus too.

I'm looking around for a pump I can put on the passengers side so the steering shaft won't be as much an issue, and I plan to run the vac pump off a belt running up off the pump pulley. No water pump on the motor have that on the radiator, etc. packaging is going to be fun alot going on in there.

OK, I'll look at the hoosier. What size are you running though........... im going with a 12inch slick so Ill have to do whatever it takes!

My waterpump will run off the bottom outlet on the radiator, so not on the engine either.

My vac pump will probably come off the passenger side of the motor plate.

I want to keep it simple, so Im running my box sump and the matched billet morosso oil pump and the system 1 reusable oil filter, it will be more than addequite. If you want any more info on my setup part no's just let me know and ill dig it up!

Ok, the steering is well now on the way to being mocked up. Got to do passenger side and extend the steering shaft some.

My bolts came into space my rear wheels to the new offset and I got the wale tale underway.

Catch ya.

The 18192 is a 29.5x10.5 tire, measures 30 inches tall and 11.1 wide, I have them mounted on a 15x12 dbl beadlock wheel. I thought about going with a 15x14 wheel but was told by the Hoosier tech that there would be no advantage with this tire doing that, it would likely hurt more then help....fwiw. For a a tire that has 12 inches of tread and I'd guess a 14 inch carcass, you might want a 14 inch wide rim. The 18192 has a 13.2 inch wide carcass as well if that info helps you.

Thanks JL, more great info!

Its always amazing at how different sizing is across the board, im probably going with a 12 inch rim too, so this tyre is probably on the money.

Ill mock the rear with spacers and get an offset setup!
