We make custom motor plates for the 4th gen F-body, that require little or no trimming... and can cut any plate to order with any notch/scallop/bump/LOGO you might desire, and quickly. Our custom f-body front plate ties in the shock towers, and is available for SBC/BBC/LSx and coming soon LT1... you tell me where you want your crank centerline in relation to the frame rails (we know where the stock position is), approve your plate design, and it's cut and shipped in a matter of days.
Check the website, call with Qs... take advantage of our low prices! I'm always available to make a engineering solution for you, and have many LSx products.
Our newest mid-plate design is shown below, and is designed for maximum clearance in your 4th gen car... even motor/trans removal in one piece!
Many thanks to Tim, Justin, and Matt!

P.S: I subscribe to the rigid/rigid/flexible (front to rear) engine mounting scheme, with a sturdy longitudinal strut to limit the fore/aft inertial movement... take it easy on that trans case! Unless your chassis is absolutely rigid (don't fool yourself, really), a rigid trans mount can try to deflect your driveline when the chassis flexes.
