Default Lightweight battery

I was curious if a lawn mower battery will keep my car running from the staging lanes to the end of the track? Trying to reduce weight in the front end....Thanks
Found these, will one of these work?

What does a mower battery weigh.

Do you have an alternator? If not then I doubt it will. If you have an alt. then starting is the only issue.

That one you have in the link seems a little too small. I used to run a PC680. Worked great until it died after 5yrs. But had no probs starting the car. Even ran my EWP between rounds a few times. Be careful using power if the motor is not on. The reserves on these batteries are very short.

i daily drove my car with a jet ski battery from O'riellys. I think the number is EXT15, but it weighs like 15 pounds and works GREAT. Plus it is only 60 bucks as opposed to 150 for a braille that is no better.

I daily drive on a braile. When it was new it was fine. It's about 1 year old and seems a little weak and it resets my trip meter and gauges when it starts now. Does anyone know if that also resets the fuel trims?

I dont know much about small batteries but why not just relocate your battery to the back? Im not trying to hijack but Im trying to see if there is a big difference.

Because then you add weight with longer cables and the disconnect switch that would be requeird.

Ok I see. Thanks. I always thought that by moving the battery to the back you were moving the weight to a place where you could use it.

I use a optima yellow top D51r with adapters to use the stock cables on the top post setup, mounted in the stock location. It is 26lbs , about half the weight of a stock battery and has enough power to run the fans and stereo for a solid hour and still start the car, best battery to run on a street car IMHO.

Theres a guy here that sells lightweight batteries with seemingly good results. A quick search should pull up his thread, for those that are interested.
