^^^ ya. 2nd has been fine for me.
I heard you shouldn't really power out of the water box, its really bad for the clutch? anyone had any troubles form that? Not talking john force past the tree.

That vid sounds like the pontiac shifting from lo to hi with a powerglide trans while the camaro prolly has a stick but did not shift in the burnout.

y^^^^^ just to be clear this video is some thing I taped in nj last summer and not what I'm talking about the burn out guys shifting I dont have any video of ..i just thought these were/are to bad *** cars I love it when that camaro pulls them up in second

thats pretty much what I'm talking about ... it just that most of the time they try to speed shift thru the gears while doing the burn out lol nice one makes me want to get my car done

I doubt there is much shock on the drivetrain while sitting in the water box. Maybe some shock but not much torque being applied as there is very little resistance on the tires. I know my 2-3 shift applies way more **** than dropping the clutch in the box.

I think what trans gear is determined by what rear gear and tire size.

I've always used 3rd gear with no problems. I tried 2nd a few times but 3rd just seems right for my car.

There's nothing wrong with powering out of the box. What you don't wanna do is let the tires grab and pull the engine down. That's whats really hard on the clutch. If you push in the clutch just before the tires start to bite, it shouldn't hurt a thing. Besides, I like to make sure I'm out of the trail of water that inevitably gets left from other cars.

I quickly spin mine in the water box, move to the dryer pavement. Do a burnout in 2nd using the foot brake. I wouldn't do it if I didn't get some water on the tires. There is no shock on the drive train doing it that way.
