What gears need help let see were looking to make some gear changes ...tell me what gear will make this cars faster
99 z28 ls1 ls6 intake cam 557 557lift ASE
A4 VIG4500 410 GEARS 10 bolt the car has bolt ons
FULL WEIGHT 3660 w/driver
157 60'
11.66 115mph 1/4
The rear just broke its done picked up a 12 bolt
it has 373 gears
10 bolt had 411 gears
or do we go with 433 s
whats going to be faster on a 26" tire

i had 4.56's out back when it was and m6 on a 28" tire, im not sure how high you plan to spin the motor, but if you can get away with 4.33's on a 26 do it, but i'd say switch to a 28 n the 4.33's n dont look back!

maybe I should have started this post with I think the thingy in the back makin noise so I put 10 bottles of #6 init and it make a funny smell now ............... nobody has any input on this issue about gears and tires

just tryin to get more out of it ...I think it will go faster just wondering what gear and tire combo would run the fastest with this set up. Im thinkin 433 gear with a 27 3/4 tire
Hmmm. Idk, I was askin these same questions in another thread. I do know that if it works then leave it alone and persue something different like weight reduction or suspension or something.
If u are shifting at 6400 and going through the traps at 6400 I would not change gears unless u want to spin it a lot higher. The taller tire will give you a bigger footprint and you will hook better but it will slow u down too. Is the car dead hooking? Do you need more tire?
I had a 28 inch tall tire with 4.10's and 4000 stall and spun it to 7K (BBC). It was a really nice combo but was on the friendly side, could have been a bit more agressive. I never got the chance to take it to the track to know the trap RPM's.
Personally I avoid even thinking about a 4.10 or better with anything les then a 28 inch tall tire.
