need last minute traction advice. pic/vid inside
this is from today, had 30# air in the right rear airbag and about 10 in the left rear
if i launch good (hard) it will jump up like this and spin
if i roll out and floor it at the 1-2 shift it is like it is in the video
also note that when it spins it is tire shake not just regular spinning
i have qa1's around fronts and rears both on 7 but was messing with them all over.
http://upload.streetfire.net/video/b...-08_199634.htm
tires had 15# in em, car weighs 3840
going back saturday looking for things to try.
thanks.

loosen the fronts 2 clicks, go another 0.5 degrees down on the pinion angle. I think the airbag at 30lbs is a bit too much. did you try the tires at 17-18psi and work down? Most I've seen is the MT's work better around there. i think you may want to try to carry all that weight on the rear tires just a little bit longer, looks like it's trying to level out too early. I dunno.
congrats on another PB for the year.

rear sway is stock but with bags car leaves level.
i tried the bags on lower air but car would be crooked
i usually run the tires aroudn 20 but was just looking for stuff to try so i aired down, next week i can start off higher.
i had the front looser and felt like it came up too fast
it hooks off the line its just out on the track.. think i need to slow, or at least prolong the weight travel from the initial hit down the track or something.

My car would do the same thing - pull the wheels up 6" and then blow the tires off.
I ended up going with dual way adj AFCOs and it let me keep the rear end from unloading so fast. I would adjust the extension on the shock (cranked it up tight) and was finally rewarded with a 1.29 60'

Usually a lot of that (atleast in lower hp cars) has to do with the Instant Center being too far back on the car... Meaning the point where your TA and the imaginary line from your LCAs meet is too far back. If you hit the tires too hard it will hook like an SOB for a second and then unload right away. Atleast that's what I've learned from my experience with the TA stuff... Move that point farther out (move the LCAs up a hole or two) and it will be more prone to not hitting the tires as hard and holding its momentum.
Like I said that's just from my experience...

Def the shocks need some adjustment, the car is heavy and alot of that is on the nose. Get rid of that bag and put a solid sway bar on there, it sucks for the street but that car is just a few steps away from being a race car. Wolfe race craft makes a excellent one.
Let the shocks do the work, the sway bar to keep it straight and try to lighten it up.
To go fast, there has to be a sacrifice.

I can't remember do you have lower control arm relocation brackets on the car?

same day vid of a crappy start

check the 4:30 mark this was a soft leave where the tires shook just out the gate, this is the most common occurance

mm i have same setup and i got mine to stop hopping off the hit y getting rear shocks...you need to control it better...rear shocks...my tq arms in the lowest hole and lca are in the lowest...lca are barely angled up and tq arm is bottom bar about level...maybe 1 degree down...front shocks are aboue half tight compression all the way tight....rears i think are on 8/8

mine would hit the tires and unload.
this is what madman told me
"Moving the front of the arm up will hit the tire harder BUT it doesnt lift as much weight. Lowering the arm will transfer more weight but doesnt hit as hard. If you move the arm up then you will need to run more air in the tires and run a different shock setting"

I would suggest getting a rear drag bar to get rid of the stock sway bar. Use that to preload the car so it leaves straight and also picks up the front straight as well. Could try going up on hole on the lca's and maybe .5 down on pinion if you aren't already at a huge number. Take the pressure back up to the 17-18 range and maybe try 8 on the front shocks with less air in the rr airbag

sorry lee, i can try tomorrow, i dont have access to the site at work.
well anyways after some advice and research on the type of parts i like to put on my car, and help from Mike at TRZ I put one of these on the way for friday
*edit* this set up should actually drop a few pounds off of my current set up while fixing my sway / anti sway issue.
im going to pull the bags during the install also going to take a set of v8 springs to the track to try
