I talked to the guy at either the gm perfromance parts tent or scoggin dickey tent and they were selling sets there that weekend(i saw the stack of them). I cannot remember how much they cost but i remember they were expensive(but they sold all the one's they had there lol). I would call both of them to get pricing.

Eddie, speaking strictly from a performance standpoint, what does the Mast head have over the LSX DR head?

Thanks

Mast has a canted valve head, whereas the DR head is not. Once you get into the inline stuff, the DR head gets into the mix.

Give them some time to get into people's hands, and see where they fall. It's too early to say where they will fit in the overall pitcure.

You may be right. I saw the engine but didn't pay much attention to it. I'll have to ask him.

As a proven performance stand point I would say that the LS 7 Mast head has been out for some time and everyone knows it works. Also the key point that I'm going to say is everyone knows the casting is a solid part and their are no issues. People are making over 2000 HP and 35 PSI with it and have no issues. Also for $3200 complete it is the top choice.

Now I'm talking about the 305 / LS7 Head
http://www.mastmotorsports.com/2010/...p?cat=Cylinder Heads - Assembled&id=377

I'm not saying that the LSX/DR is not any good. I'm saying that it has not yet proven it self. I myself waited for a few months on the DR head for my build but I know they were having problems with them. I'm sure they are 100% now or they still wouldn't be selling them. So if you are going to spend good money on something stick to what you know works. By the time you get a set of LSX/DR Heads together you will be at about the same price.
