Strange rear brake kits weigh 23.70 lbs complete, this includes calipers, rotors, caliper mounts, pads and bolts.
Hope this helps.

I going to guess that stock weighs 40-50. That means you are dropping on the high side 30 lbs. It might get you a 10th in the 1/4. Drag brakes aren't a very good bang for the buck. They do help get the very last bit out of a car and if that is what you need then they are the costly ticket.

The brake set I was referring to is $582.45. if You want to save some money they have a set that weighs 29.1 lbs and is $445.00.

If You want to save more weight they have a sportsman carbon brake set that weighs 15.1 lbs and is $2,289.00.

I agree, this method of weight reduction is when You have done nearly everything else first and have a sponsor or deep pockets.

i just figured rear drag brakes might make the car rev a tad faster being alot less rotating weight in the rear...

Make more power, it will help you "rev" faster.

O and another expense is getting the stainless braided lines, since the strange if I remember use a AN fitting on the caliper. I got mine from SJM manufacture they use to be a sponsor. Think they where 75 or 80 bucks. It all adds up.

For what they cost they should make your car rev faster but I don't think it's gonna happen.

removing weight, especially unsprung weight, will allow the car to accelerate faster. having said that i will echo the sentiments of a couple people before i; this should be towards the end of the list for extracting potential out of your platform.
if you dont mind sharing a list of what you have done to your car thus far perhaps a couple of us could recommend more cost effective modifications.

2000 z28, im going for mods you cant see this winter because i have a few grudge races and im playing the card (im done modding so i can pay insurance), a cam is not an option becuase i want to beat them stock internal hahaha so its gonna be a good time in the spring
Car went 11.76 with a 1.54 at 113

Car has:
longtubes/TSP x pipe
FTP lid/85 Maf/LS6 intake/Bellow
UD pully
3.73 gears
ss4000/built tranny
SFCs/PHB/LCAs
Chromoly k-member and weight reduction
m/t
Ramair
Strange Adj. fronts with 275 springs

Definete upgrades are
MWC body mt. torque arm
Anti-roll bar
11lb race battary

Things im pondering.
Rear drag brakes (if they make the car rev. a little faster)
rear shocks and relo. brackets
fast 102/102

Im doing anything that cant be seen or heard, hence why no cam...this is a street race so I have someone setting up my suspension to hook on the street. I think those mods would make my car alot faster on the street.

Who said a good cam has to sound different? Just sayin... Brakes aren't gonna help much, if any at all. You'd be WAY better off going with lightweight wheels and tires.

And on second thought, a bigger engine, heads, whatever, can sound just as tame as a stock engine. Food for thought!

yeah, are skinnies a big gain ? wat about the SOTP feeling ? i might just do torque arm and anti roll bar with bogarts, or drag brakes and bogarts.
