M6 Launch Technique NEEDED!!
Just ran my Formula for the first time today, and I need to learn how to launch it better. I know that M6 is not good for the strip, but I can't drive auto on the street...way to boring! .568 R/T with a 2.335 60' time is not cutting it for an LS1 w/ cam and bolt-ons. My E/T was 13.427 w/ a trap speed of 110.52 mph! I know that speed is good enough for mid-high 12's. I need any advice possible. I can't afford slicks and I'm running Kumho's, no good? Please help out a rookie, thanks.

Honestly, my adrenaline was pumping so hard I'm not sure. I staged, had my foot on the clutch, foot on the gas to like 1500rpm and then stared at the christmas tree until it was time to go. When it hit green, I jumped off the clutch and feathered the gas. I really did not peel or burn out at all. My friend who was watching said he didn't hear me get any rubber all the way down the track. Funny thing, I red lined in first, went into second and immediately the rpm's were at redline. Does that make sense?

I beg to differ with you. M6's are great at the track . Nah just kidding.
Racing an M6 is a learned ART. Just do a quick clean of the tires after the water box. Stage. Rev to 2500. Last yellow light, slip the clutch and slam the gas. If you bog off the line, raise the Rev to 3000. Continue to raise or low Rev until you get a little spin but not overly done. On street/Kumo's you should be able to run your PSI down to 20. Don't forget to air them up when you leave for home.
OR borrow some ET Streets/BFG DR/Slicks. Rev to 5800 and dump it. Now that is a rush
Bigest thing is PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE. M6's can be a blast at the track - it takes a great deal of practice and patients to get good at it.

ya it is an art drivin a 6 speed the right way
for example first time to the track with lid, catback, street tires 13.21 @ 109.5 - 2.19 60ft
2 weeks later with nittos 12.99 @110 - 1.94 60ft
5 months later same setup 12.40 @ 112- 1.96 60ft (clutch slipin bad)
i heat up the nittos for like 7 seconds in the water
ride out the brun out
line up
bring the revs to 4000 and drop it and hold on
shifting is a very big part and i dont powershift
