Well I am no spring manufacture or even a guru but my understanding is that the rating is based is having the entire spring intact. Cutting it with a saw will certainly shorten it but the base is no longer there and again you have altered how it will re act and if you cut it with a torch you have now introduce fatigue into the metal.

IMO this sounds like this is not Drag Racing related so I would say post this in the Suspension Section as you tend to get guys more into Auto Cross, or just Handling at high speeds.

I can tell you is when I installed my QA1 R series fronts, is that we could play with the ride height and that does give a inherent "rake". I also have a 12 bolt with stock insulators so the rear half is "up". I'll see if I can post a pic.

Edit: Pics Added

Stock- WS.6 17" rims, Stock Springs, Stock Shocks, 12 bolt

Modified- 15 x 8 Convo Pro, 26" tall ET Street Radial, QA1 R series Fronts #315 LT1 style Spring, F Series Rear Stock Shock. 12 Bolt.

A 28" tall tire and proper backspacing would give a totally different look but I have some other things to buy. Do love the look of the car now.
