Default knock sensors?

Okay so i broke my stupid knock sensors trying to unhook them when i was pulling out my motor

ive heard running solid motor mounts negates their use? Is there a way to run without them? is it smart to?

I asked this same question in another thread with no answer. My question was about building a "race" harness and deleting the Ksenors. So the question was could you unplug the kr sensors and turn all the related DTC's to no error reported and it would be fine, like nothing ever happend.

My guess is that the pcm will just never see knock again.

Solid motor mounts will do the same thing headers do when they hit the floor, give you alot of false knock. If you're going to run a solid motor mount, shitcan the knock sensors... they'll do nothing but give you trouble.

You should NEVER rely on that sensor to pick up knock anyway, they are a serious band-aid from the factory to help stop the car from hurting itself when a kid puts 87 octane in a car that needs premium, then he proceeds to put it to the floor on a 120 degree day on a huge uphill run on the highway for 10 min strait LOL.

I've tuned several cars with solid motor mounts and the knock sensors have functioned normally.

And I would still shitcan them right off the motor as they are generally nothing more then a source of a headache at some point or another... so what's your point?

My only point was that solids don't automatically cause false knock thus why I said, "I've tuned several cars with solid motor mounts and the knock sensors have functioned normally."

Nope don't bother.... I wouldn't even plug them in, pull those wires from the harness and be done with it. As for the sensors, they would make a good fishing weight.
