Yeah I was thinking about that. Coming off that side, I almost need a "U" fitting to get it clear of the water pump, and that should be easy to find in AN. I'll do some digging at the hydraulic store today.

Thank you sir!

Again, if anybody knows if what line is the inlet or outlet on the heater box, don't be shy lol

No luck at the hydraulic store on the 1" NPT to 5/8" hose barb. If anybody has other suggestions let me know!

Just curious, what side is the "feed" side on the pump? and what side is the return side?

My guess would be the drivers side is the return?

OK cool, so I need to connect the heater hoses like this:
Feed is 5/8 - so connect to the bottom plug (which is on the driver's side)
Return 3/4 - so connect to the top plug (which is the passenger side)

Seem right?

the 5/8 is the heater core feed which should connect to the top (outlet) of the pump. the 3/4 is the heater core return and should go to the bottom (inlet) of the pump

Got it, Thanks!

I think since I can find a 1" NPT to 5/8" barb, I'm going to take a 1"NPT to 3/4" barb and just turn down the OD 1/8th to get it to 5/8"

See how that seals.

you can do it 2 different ways. you can just heat the end of the 5/8 hose with a heat gun to soften it and it will fit over the 3/4 barb, or you can get a 5/8 to 3/4 hose adapter and add 3/4 hose on to your current 5/8 hose. you can get the 5/8 to 3/4 adapter at any parts store.

Well I struck out again. The top plug isn't a 1" NPT (the one that is blocked off normally)

I called and he said it was a 9/16" "O-ring thread"...which can't be correct, because I'm getting around 0.910 for a minor thread pitch. I'll have to take it in tomorrow and throw some thread gages on it.

But I don't believe it is a NPT, he said it wasn't, but I've never heard of a "o-ring thread"....is that just a straight thread?

yes o-ring threads are straight. they ususlly use the same threads as AN fittings. that sucks because i just bought 1"npt to -16an fittings for mine and planned to use the top side hole.

Yeah I kicked myself in the butt for that one. You can use it on the bottom if you want.

I'm going to take my 1" NPT fitting into the shop, I'm going to look into what makes "O-ring" or "AN" threads different than the norm. I might just turn my fitting down and turn some threads onto it.
