Default advice on changes to my setup

I have a 347ls1 in a 64 chevy II . Race weight is 2600 with me in it, fiberglass front lift up cap and lexan windows, fiberglass doors and trunk lid.
I run a th350 with a 12 bolt rear that currently has 4.11 gears and 31x13x15 m/t slicks.

My engine consist of scat ibeams and mahle pistons wiht 4cc flycuts. heads are 5.3 heads milled downt to 54 cc chambers and ported locally wiht 2.o int, 1.60 exh valves. flow 283 @.600 lift. decent heads but for $400 i could not refuse them. I am using a 6.0 truck intake and ported 78mm tb.

Here is the dilema, im running a futral cam that i picked up used from a friend with a 383 nitrous setup. cam is 239/243 with .612 lift 112lsa +2 .

This cam loves rpm in my little 347. IN fact, if i shift at 7300 its 2mph faster then shifting at 6800. THe converter i have in it now is a 10"that stalls to 4200 and with these tires only pulls a 1.56 60 ft but pulled a 1.48 when i used a 325x50x15 m/t drag radial(28") because of more effective gear ratio.

Ok, I was going to buy a converter as my 8" BTE converter was suposed to sell and greg at FTI recomended a 5500 stall. Car should fly with that and a more efficient top end then i have. My bte converter pulled 1.50 60fts and flashed to 4700 logged on efi live. I want this car in the low 1.4's to 1.3's.

My dilemma is i can get a cam that would make power under 7000 rpms to match the intake and converters i have better so i dont have to spin so high or advance the cam i have.
option 2 is gear the car with 4.56's or 4.88's that i have and try the converters i have and let it turn the rpm's.
With these converters i could even go to a trans brake but would rather stay foot brake for braket class racing. the car ran 10.54 yesterday at 70 degrees outside with only 126mph crossing at 6400 rpms but let off the gas and it dropped to 5900.

Im leaning toward getting Geoff at eps to do me a custom grind that is hotter but tight lobe seperation and more advance to work better with my setup i have. This car was built on a tight budget as i put a lot into my trans am and just dont want to do that with this car. I can sell my cam for $200 to a friend that wants it so im only out $200 FOR a new cam. New cam, 4.56 gears and 4700 bte converter may even flash higher with the right cam.

Let the oppinions begin. Thanks in advance.

Well the guy may come through after all and buy my other converter. If he does then im getting the 5500 stall from FTI and see what this thing can do.

Got ya. Piece I have is not for you then, you'd be able to do that lifting at the 1/8th mile in a 2600 lb car.
