That's what I figured. how thick did you go with the mid plate, if you don't ind me asking? I've always understood that one mounted that way needed to be a good bit thicker. did you also put a couple "tabs" in the frame down below as well, or is it just hanging that way? A better picture would be killer.

As for the 200 mph comment fireball... all I can think about is the targa top flying off the supra in fast and the furious towards the end of the movie....

You either attach t-top hardware to it (so you can just take it on and off like t-tops) via built in hardware OR you just screw and glue it (to make your car a "hardtop", couple customers already did this).

Our next shipment of 10 comes in Feb 9th and 6 are already paid for. Two month wait after that...
How is it in rain or during a car wash? Can you do any better on the carbon fiber pricing? You can get them for $525 shipped, they weigh 4 lbs, and go over the crossbar.

I thought about this issue a bit.
Use Dzus fasteners down the center.

We're also going to offer a bracket that would bolt in place of the center t-top bracket. It would cover the holes and also have a lip at the front for the targa to slide into, thus holding it down with no worries of ripping off...

We might be able to make one offs like that BUT the piece you're referring to (I think at least) is not like ours. It is just a CF skin that you have to screw and glue where as ours is CF, with a core and mounting/bracing for hardware.

Ours was made with the intention of DD's using it as a t-top replacement. The reduced weight for racer's was just a plus...

Waterproofer, do you have any pics with how you installed the fastners.. I was just about to do a hardtop conversion but this may keep me from cutting up a perfectly good chassis.

Ah ok, I only saw the prototype pics and it didn't look reinforced. What about weather stripping and proofing?

I was around when Chris (Whistler) targa'd his car. Even full FULL targa (removing the center bar) you only need the factory t-top weather stripping...

For non-full, just remove center bar and latch this down. Stock weatherstripping keeps water in the rain channel and out of the car...

For FULL targa, you cut out the metal center, make the lip/channel go straight across. Then cut the driver side t-top weather stripping at the back corner and the passenger side at the front corner. Then stretch the driver side to the passenger side (front) and passenger side to the driver side (rear). Super simple.
