Default Textralia Exo-Skel Dual Disc Clutch

Anyone running this clutch in a drag set up? My car weighs 3000 lbs, 4:30 spool 12 bolt and the new engine set up should be 480+ at the wheels. I just got the trans. faceplated and getting the car back together. A sponser suggested this clutch. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I would not run this clutch in a 4 wheeler. For the same money get the spec or the Mcloud or Ram. Too many other proven twin disk setups to go with a tex IMO. And yes I have run one before and still know some who still do and do not like them. A good street clutch at best.

If you spent the $ to put a faceplated t56 in the car, you won't do yourself any justice with anything other then a mcloud softloc. It will take a while to figure it out with the weights and whatnot, but if you want 100% out of the car, that clutch and a 2 step is the only way to go.

They are rebuildable too at a considerably lower cost, which is also nice. Make sure you have a blowproof bellhousing on it too please... nature of things once you get to that point really makes it a good idea.

The soft loc can not be used on the street from what I have seen?? If you plan on any street driving.

I believe you're right about the street use. I'm leaning towards the Mcloed RXT.

I hear good things about the RXT, I would only use the soft loc in drag only setup. Seens videos of cars useing the soft loc and is badass but wouldnt think its a good street/strip car if thats what your car is.

No driving the softloc.. it will be done in NO time. Sorry for that recommendation, if you are going to be driving the car.... usually when the faceplated tranny's go in that's the end of the street use...

^^Just makes the car that much harder or challenging to do on the street. Faceplated is not bad if you stay away from traffic. LOL

I wanted the Sof-Loc bad but Mcleod doesn't even want you to pull into a trailer with it. I went with the RXT for the street/strip use.

I know this is a few months old but I had a Textralia Exo Skel twin in my Camaro and loved it.... track times can be seen in my sig... even with a too tall gear for motor I still went 10.3@132 NA with a 3.89 gear and 28" slick then went multiple 9.60's@143 cutting 1.39-1.43 60's.

This was also driven to the track swap tires and unload tools/junk and racing. It was very streetable and held all the power I had to throw at it with ease.
