Default removing(clearancing)hood latch

Question for the gurus, I have no place to put my derale trans cooler have very limited space and really dont wanna mount it in the rear of the car(still street car) The only place I see that I can mount it is behind my intercooler(already have tabs welded on it) but the cooler hits the CROSS BEAM that connects to the upper support and bottom support.

Would I have issues closing my hood if I cut that support in half just leaving the top part for the hood latch or have issues with it not holding shut? After market hood little bit lighter then stock one also

Thanks

I dont know much about that auto crap. But check out the "dope style" mounting some guys use. It might work for you?

I wouldn't run a stock hood the bottem of the hood latch metal cut off. Guys used to do that on GTP, and you would raise the hood latch up all the way on the hole slots, and you would still slam the hood. The latch had 1/4 of flex, Is there a way you can bracket it to your IC? with a alum bar or somthing? It really dosn't take much a super light little alum angle alum.... 3/4 x 3/4 x thin helps a ton, Ive doe that on some cars.

check this too

what about in front of one of the tires. Right in a square cut in the wheel well. you really dont get rocks thee off the tire, and you will get good airflow.

Get a small electric fan and mount your cooler any place you have room.

cut the support on my hood latch. will get better pics later. Just welded a bar across it to mount my intercooler, would work for you as well.

Try these hood latches and delete the factory. Installed these and they look great.
