Default Fuel Setups

I am thinking of dumping the stock fuel setup and getting ideas.. I have thought about either running a cell up front or possibly swapping the factory fuel cell in the rear. The fuel system has been modded past the rails. So i am mostly interested in from the tank to the rails.. Any lessons learned or advice on this before i go down a road i regret...

Only reason I can see changing from the stock tank it if you went with a Sumped tank in the stock location. But you really only need to do that on big power. I wouldn't swap to a tank up front unless it was a track only car.

If it's a track only car, putting a small 2 to 3 gallon tank in the nose will save you about 30 lbs.

If that's what you're after, then absolutely it's a no brainer. If you still drive it, then I wouldn't bother doing anything unless you need the fuel system capacity. Even a cell in the t top well isn't really worth it, again unless you need the fuel system capacity.

Its pretty much a trailor queen at this point.. It gets trailored to and from the track, i havent had it registered for the street for a few years..

When relocating to the front does it throw any codes etc?

At the point that you move it up to the front, there's not a whole lot of codes ya wouldn't have turned off.

All the EVAP related stuff will have to be turned off, answer the question.

Im putting a cell in mine down the road...a sumped one in the stock location (~10gal), I will still drive it on the street and even though Im running dual intanks now, I will eventually max those and will not be doing the triple pumps or larger units (I have dual 255's)...I'd much rather have a single large external pump than multiple intank pumps.

but for a drag only car, I wouldnt hesitate to put a small cell in the front...much cleaner and the added benefit of weight loss.

Fuel doesn't have to fight gravity to get to the engine either.
