Default Drags or E.T. streets

What are the pros and cons between full drag tires and e.t. streets? I'm kind of leaning towards the e.t. streets because I have an extra set of stock 16" wheels, but should I just go all out and get the drags instead? Neither one would be driven on the street, so that doesn't matter to me. My suspension is all stock except for a soon to be purchased 9". Hopefully my stock rear will hold for at least 1 day with the new tires. The car is an M6 with about 500rwhp.

yeah, i would get the drags too, especially since you are still running stock suspension...and you are making 500rwhp

What kind of time differences can be expected between the two? Also the 500rwhp is with the blower so I guess I'm only launching with maybe 350 at most, if that makes any difference.

Something else to consider is what, if any, competition you plan to run in. Many classes are limited to DOT tires (Drag Radials or ET Streets), no ET Drags allowed!

ditto, there's a lot of local races that are DOT only...

I found out that the tire I'm running 28x12.5x15 ET street is the same compound as the ET drag thats 28x10, Mightymouse did some research on this, I guess I can stick with the ET street for now and not have to worry about getting hassled by the police on the street.....

They always give me crap anyways about them, but they never notice my 3.5" wide tires in the front....

I decided to go with a 28 X 12.5 ET Street. The cops are getting wise to slicks around here, and it's an impound worthy offense if you have them. For a couple of years I ran ET Drags, then I got caught. The cop was cool about it, and told me to take it straight home, and get some DOT tires on it. He only offered a warning that the next officer may not be as "understanding" as him.
