Default The 36 hour thrash session...

Figured I'd share this on here since I put it up on a local board.

Tuesday 7/12
7pm Load up the car and misc parts.

8pm unloaded the car from the trailer

9pm unloaded the car full of parts and left for dinner

Wednesday 7/13 (race is tomorrow, WTF!!!)

12am Eworks arrives with the short block and I just returned with the trans for the car

3:53am Long block is just about done. During the assembly process, I tore down anything and everything that could possibly be cleaned and went through it. Have to put the flexplate on once it comes off the stand. Can't fine one ******* arp washer for one of the head studs and one intake bolt. Machine shop forgot to toss my key for the ballancer in the new crank and its not in the old crank. As soon as I wake up I'll be on the hunt for parts.

Now just to locate all the rest of the parts and assemble the whole damn car.... Anyone want to drop me off a ball????

Got to the barn about 2pm on Wednesday to get started putting the car back together.

Got the flex plate and some misc stuff bolted back together for install. 3:00pm

Back where the damn thing belongs. 3:30pm

lines, under car stuff, electrical done. Forgot what time

Turbo parts all back on and plumbed. ~7:00pm

All buttoned up and ready to fire. ~12:00am

After I fired it up we left to go watch a race real quick. From there I just had to fabricate a trans linkage bracket, pull the intake and glue the gaskets(intake leak), make a new oil feed line(old one was leaking a bit) and fill the trans.

10:30am Thursday morning I got back to the barn to work on finishing touches. Got everything done about 1:15pm and took it for a drive down the road, came back and threw it in the box and off to GLD we went!

Thank you sir! I didn't do so well as far as the race goes, but I was VERY happy with the car. Went out first round. That's the joy of an event that has no test passes, right off the trailer racing. New motor with a whole new combo and no passes on it. I made a mistake on the 2 step/staging of the car. Left on ~2psi and didn't come in for about two seconds since there was no impeller speed. Left the tune-up the same, moved the 2 step up 200rpm and made a solo hit after the event and it went 100x better. Left on 5.5psi and followed the ramp like it was supposed to.

You build some crazy stuff and always like seein what ur doin next. The mustang is the sickest car at the track IMO. One question though, out of all your fab skills and turbo kits u build, why not v-band the manifolds on the mustang? Seems like it be a faster, leak free fix for how many times this car is tore apart, lol.

Thank you very much!!!! I'm not a fan of welding cast iron. In order to do it the PROPER way, its a long process. I've never had a leak and fingers crossed, I wont have to take it apart after this. This motor feels great, unlike the last miss-balanced piece of junk. I almost used the Stainless Works headers for this years new turbo setup, but I just couldn't justify the cost.(Yes, I know it seems petty to gripe about $900 on a car that cost over $45k to build, lol)

I damn near got in a fight with some loud mouth guy at the last Shootout at 41, he said you arent racing E85 anymore cause you where a p*&&y and your car couldnt hang... I told him that he better get his fact straight and that the car was torn apart and people better watch out when you come back...
I got your back man, by the way it was nice to meet you at the Chaos race...
I hope to get my rearend fixed so I can bring my slow street car up to play..

Thank you for the defense!!!!! I wish you knew which guy it was. I went on the ProE85 site and offered a heads up race to any ProE85 car.... Still haven't had anyone accept. 95% of those cars are bbc, back half, big tire cars and I've been faster than all of them and quicker than all but one. That will change the next outing with the car. I will still not be running the class even though the car is done. To be honest, 8.90's is boring for me now as well is index racing. I'm going to try and run the 275 stuff up at GLD and try to make the Outlaw 275 class in GA this fall.

Nope, its my friends garage. I just moved shops last month and don't have the room to play with my race cars anymore.

Looks sick, I know all about thrashing! I've built a car with no sleep to take it to the track and shake down. Took lots of mt dew at 19! (Now we drink beer and wonder why stuff doesn't get done!)

GLD is in Union Grove, WI. I will be attending the SCC and Three Lug events for grudge racing at NLR to race. I will be at as many USS events as possible to help out with a few other peoples programs.
