Red01, I won't be making it this Saturday, I'll pm ya next time out
WJ 99 SS, I haven't weighed the car yet, I'm guessing it is fairly light. I run the car without a spare tire or jack in it, and my back seat is removed(I like the way it looks that way more than for a weight saving! LOL ) Oh yeah, the front sway bar took a hike too. Thats pretty much it for any weight removal that I've done. The car is a hardtop, also. I'm guessing it is in the 3200-3300 range without me in it. I plan to 4-corner the car soon so I'll let you know what I find out.
Later, Stew

First pass was a 12.24@113.5, 1.82 60ft, and 7.89@89.88 1/8 mile
Second pass was a 12.27@113.0, 1.83 60ft, and 7.90@89.65 1/8 mile
I was happy with the car, but not so happy with 2 runs for $15.00. A car broke early on, and the staging lanes were jam packed within an hour.
Serves me right for going on a trophy bracket night with good air! LOL I think I'll stick to Wed night test n tune from now on!
Here is what is done to my car: Car is an 01 Z28, free ram air, pulley, Thunder Racing long tubes and custom y-pipe, ported tb, lid & filter, hooker catback, 3.42's, short belt, convo pro wheels w/nitto drag radials.
I really think the car had a teen in it with 3-5 more runs, but who knows.
Next time out I am gonna pull some weight out, not run a full tank of gas, and maybe try some tuning. After that it'll be torque converter and shift kit time Take care, Stew@ Thunder Racing

Thanks for the reply, Bob. Before I bought the camaro, I had a black on black 91 mustang coupe that was a bolt on car, 5-speed, with 4.10's. The car went 12.80's and one 12.78 pass, with 60fts in the mid to high 1.6 range. To say that you inspired me with that car(and many other mustangs I owned) is an understatement. It was people like you, Tony Defeo, Steve Collison, Neil Van Opre, Ed Smith,(I could go on! LOL) that really got the EFI rage going. Look at how far it has come. It is just unreal the performance that fuel injected engines are producing and it is equallly cool to be able to take part in it all!
Good luck in the future with the Cobra, Bob. Take care, Philip@Thunder

That's awesome for a bolt-on 5.0. Those were days..... I'm out of the "bolt-on" race now. I am going to make a bit of an effort at winning a race or two in NMRA Factory Stock this year. To that end, there is a mild purpose-built motor in the Cobra now. Picked up some good HP, so I'm hopeful I can run with the top guys. Time will tell.
Best of luck to you Phillip.

Bob Cosby, thanks again
redls1z28, what Wesley SS said, plus the fact that we get some killer air here from time to time. The Density Altitudes have been as insane as -1700 to -2000 on ocassion in the winter. Hopefully we will get a few more cold fronts before the long, hot summer hits us!

jerflash, thanks, and it sounds like you could meet that goal easily, just be careful with that stock rear LOL That is damn impressive considering your mods!
Rodney, I will probably be going to the shootout in San Antonio, so I won't be seeing ya. Weren't you getting your ride ready for that also?
