mini tubbed 4th gens.

So you still leave have the factory tub in? Is that what i'm seeing? I assume all of you either converted to coil overs or used the new adjustable type mounts with smaller springs.

I did my own tubs, bought the mini tubb kit from wolf racecraft. Had to modify the drivers side because of the petrol neck allowence in the floor. Used just about every tool I have, air chisel, drill for some spot welds, grinder" 9inch what a job " , 6 inch grinder, air hacksaw, reciprocating saw. Whatever wil do the job. I chose and would advise doing multiple cuts to get the whole lot out, The spring cover is the worst area, as it is three layers spot welded together. Probably got some picks of the holes somewhere!

1 bad TA Those small springs you are referring to look like what im running, I got mine from wolf racecraft also, They supply a coil over mount to replace the 6inch item. You need to run the smaller spring to take the tubb right up against the rail.

Thanks I talked to all those shops already (except Metz) and none of them have experience with doing tubs on a 4th gen. I might give Ron a try since hes not too far away from me.

I was thinking about getting another set of plastic and seeing if I could use my plastic welder and add to where you cut them so it covers the tubs. Or my other idea was to glue some pieces of the carpet onto the exposed parts of the tubs.

I'm sure Ron would do a good job, judging from the work I have seen. Mini tubs for a decent fab shop are a pretty simple job.

Fireball, got any pics of the car straight on from the side? How wide is your axle, or how much narrower than stock? And whats the BS on those wheels?
The whole setup looks awesome, nice job.

don't remember the actual width of the rear (rotor to rotor) but its a bit wierd since I run big ford ends on the rear end (which has a different axle offset from GM).
the rear has 3.75" cut from each side, but the change in offset makes it effectively 4.2" narrower on each side or about 8.5" overall.
15x10x5.5" BS wheels.
