Vacuum pump trial and error So my when i got my tune my tuner told me to just use the LS1 airpump for the vacuum pump, on a WOT switch...so i was hooking it up to test it out and could get 3 or 4 inches of vacuum with it, he said he was getting around 7 inches on every one he did...i was just running the 3/8 lines from each valve cover to a T and going 1/2 inch to the pump...he was running it thru a sealed catchcan before the pump....any ideas on how to get the vacuum...yes everything is sealed up tight as a dolphins ***, even removed the dipstick and put a vacuum cap and ziptie on it

its builds 3 or 4 inches....car has 30k on it and runs amazing just looking for every last drop of power ya know ? was hoping for 6 inches or 7 anyone else tried this ?

thats what i was always told thats why i never wasted my time...but i talked to him and he said he has gained 1 solid MPH on every car he has put it on...and they are usually pulling around 6-7 inches, i could only get mine to pull 4...
The pump you have may not be good. Honestly the pump's are somewhat sketchy... sometimes you will get one that works, and others won't. I tried this, and the pump dies fast, and I tried running thru a catch can first, to stop the oil from killing the pump. Pump was the one that my car came with, had about 7200 miles on it fwiw, so it was pretty new.
