Default Fabricated Dash

I've been looking for quite some time now but couldn't find much of anything. I pulled out the dash for my camaro drag car, and after realizing how big and heavy it was, we're considering making our own to save weight, and for more room. Has anyone made there own? Not looking to spend a lot, but want it to look clean. Aluminum, plastic, glass?? Please post pics, thanks.

This is just a bracket racing car. I don't really want to spend that much and have it look the same as stock.

Well, I don't really want to spend 300 bucks. I also read that some people just gut their stock dash and it ends up being almost the same weight as these, so I may just do that....

You can save some weight by gutting the stock dash for sure. But you will never get it down to the weight of the Glasstek one. Just depends on the funds. It also cost money to mount the fiberglass dash too

My stock dash weighed 11.1 lbs.

After I gutted it, it weighed 10.1 lbs, still looks factory by the way.

I called VFN and a representative said their dashes are approximately 8 lbs. Kinda hard to justify spending almost $400 for 2 lbs, plus the headache of having to mount it with fasteners.

Yeah, I think I'm just going to gut the stock one. A couple pounds is nothing for me right now. Have any pics of your dash?
