Here are two of my car with the non sloped

[/QUOTE]

Back from the dead.

So this is the 5" non-sloped VFN hood? Anyone got a part number for this exact hood? That looks pretty damn good and I'm sure it would clear a Super Victor/4150 TB with Nitrous plate.

Go to the VFN Website you'll find it there.
The only thing about this hood is the hood itself doesn't extend to the windshield, only the scoop does. You can see all the cowl area.
Try to find you a pic from the side of a car with this hood.
I'm sure your set-up would clear with a 5" Sloped Hood.

I love this hood, it's just the open cowl area I don't like.

I like the look of the non-sloped 5" hood better. That hood on that yellow CETA is perfect in my opinion. I could probably get by with the 4" hood, but if I'm going to have to lose wipers with the Super Victor/4150 setup, then might as well go with the 5" one.

Yeah, I love the non-sloped hood too, but It doesn't cover the cowl.
It stops off like the factory hood. Before the black plastic trim around your wipers.
Find you some pics of this hood at the windsheid and you'll see what I'm talking about.

I see what you're saying, but I think I'd prefer it that way. Why do you not like that?

It just leaves a big gap between the hood and windshield.
You probably could modify the plastic wiper trim but....
I've even talk to Jeannie at VFN about this and was told that's why they made the sloped hood. And she said also it was to tall for driving. The non-sloped was the first design.
Even ask if they could make me a non-sloped hood that extended to the windshield.
No go, they would have to make a new mold.
Just my .02 cents!

Love these hoods. Miss my old one. I wish they made and offered a 2.5" hood though. That would be the perfect size. I believe they would sell a bunch of them in that size. Yellow CETA looks sick btw. Awesome car

Thanks!
How much prep work is needed before you can paint the hood?

I am still debating if I am going to leave it or paint flat black but it doesn't look like much prep would be needed

How was the fitment? Did you have to do any trimming? I think it looks great.

I had to do some trimming up around the ears nothing crazy though, the first pic with the tape was the hood on right out of the box before the trimming, I think they did a great job with the mold

Probably a stupid question, but the part of the hood that covers the cowl section, you leave that, correct? I guess the non sloped 5" version does not have this.

What is the advantage/disadvantage of that part? Is it purely cosmetic?

The wipers/motor/cowl was about 12lbs removed, you would want the extended one to cover up the cowl since it is cut off so you don't have a gap
