Default Could a track give wrong ET's?

I dont understand how i run 9.14 with a 2.3 60ft at 85mph and ive seen people do about the same thing with a lot lower ET. My car is stock but i keep reading people run mid 8 sec's and i cant even get into the 8's.

sound maybe a lil high but not by much for a stock car with a 2.3 60ft
maybe you need to work on your shifing technique?

my best on a street tires first time to the track with the new car an first time with a stick

my best 1/8 pass was
8.67 @ 86.22 with a 2.19 60ft 1/4 was 13.21 @ 109.5
lid and catback

with a lil more practic and a sticky tire(nitto)

12.38 @ 112 1.84 60ft
same mods just adding the nitto

just try practicing your launch. i ran low 9's for a while with 2.3's until i found the "sweet spot" for launching. my last trip to the track i ran a 8.73@83mph with a 2.0xx 60', with the same mods that i ran 9.2's with. just find a quiet back road to practice on!!!

Usually, when the track messes something up, it's usually quicker. That's from my local track anyway. I have a friend with a Dodge Avenger that is a consistent 17.5 @ 80 car (I know, it's slow, but he wins a lot in eliminations). One trip yielded a 16 second time at 90 something. That's impossible since the thing hasn't every gone better than that 17.5 except that one magical time.

I can happen if some trash blows through the lights for instance. Or your 60 ft will be off if you carry the wheels to long. Usually the ET will be quicker or the MPH greater. Case in point, at the recent tuner shootout, a car that had been running in the 130s posted a 158 mph.

Well i went back yesterday and the best i could do was a 9.01 with a 2.31 60ft. I only ran twice and the other one was 9.02. I have to admit that the launch is definitely not good at all I was just confused seeing how everyone else is doing a lot better than me. But i guess everything is ok and i just need to work on my launch. THANKS GUYS
