Cheeseburger Grudge Match Race
What is all of this about you ask? Well a good buddy of mine Kurt (Z28Drifter348) and I (Stippy17) want to have a little grudge match race at the local drag strip soon. The friendly wager is the loser has to buy the winner a 1/2lb Cheeseburger from the food stand. He is finishing up with the mods to his car as we speak and he should be ready to race within a few weeks.

- Last year my car ran a best of 11.76 @ 114.8 in good DA. I didnt have the UMI Relocation Brackets yet, and was still running on a stock torque arm. This year I added those along with a line loc. Ive only made it to the track once this year, but the car has ran a best of 11.89 @ 113.9 in horrible DA. My 60ft has improved so I expect a high 11.6x-low 11.7x in good DA this year.

- Last year Kurt's car was almost completely stock down to the 2.73 gears. I believe his best run was around 13.5 @ 106. Over the course of the last few months he has made the car what it is now, and within a few more weeks his build should be complete enough to have this grudge match.
So the question is: Who will win, and by how much? I have my guess.
Before the race he wants to upgrade to an LS6 Intake, and a stock ported throttle body or 90mm tb, and he still needs tuned. Before the race I want to add an underdrive pulley. I left my dyno #'s out, because he hasnt dynoed his car yet, and frankly drag racing isnt all about dyno #'s.

Im sure if I added whp #'s to this thread we would get more responses, but I want people to base their opinion on the mods and complete setups. Neither of these cars are or ever will be dyno queens.

Its not always about whp #'s Mitch. Its how the whole car/combo is set up. A lot of people get hung up on if a car has XXX amount of whp it should run XX.XX @ XXX. If the car isnt set up properly it can lose to a car that has 10-50 less whp.

We are both full interior street cars. I take my rear seats out on race day so my bigs and littles fit easier.
On a side note Kurt is supposed to be dynoing/tuning his car very soon. I'm curious to how the outcome is going to come out. I have ordered my UD Pulley..just waiting for it to come in now.

Only reason I mentioned the raceweight thing is because if you guys get out evenly its gonna be a crapshoot, seems to be pretty even. If there was a slight edge I'd give that to you only because Yank converters generally hit hard, but he's got a higher stall speed to his shift extensions should be shorter --but an off brand converter I know nothing about.

Id say our weight is about the same. I might have a SLIGHT edge, but nothing big.
On a side note I'm still waiting on my ud pulley. The crank bolt is on back order unfortunately. :-( Should be shipping out to me by the end of the week tho.
